Baseball Recap: Wayland-Cohocton Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

While Wayland-Cohocton's victory against Pavilion wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Golden Gophers 6-5. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Golden Gophers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Charlie Mulford was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Wolfanger, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Wayland-Cohocton's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Pavilion, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.
