Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Waterloo West back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Jefferson Hawks took a blow against the Waterloo West Wahawks, falling 72-36. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Wahawks are ranked 49th).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Waterloo West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Jefferson will take on Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Waterloo West, they will challenge Columbus at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
