Baseball Game Preview: North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers vs. Cascade Cadets

The North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers will take on the Cascade Cadets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Cascade will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: North Montgomery extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Chargin' Chargers put the hurt on Seeger with a sharp 9-3 victory.

Cade Cole and Aiden Ambriz-Cruz did most of the damage at the plate: Cole got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Ambriz-Cruz scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Ambriz-Cruz is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Hinds, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cascade made easy work of University on Wednesday and carried off a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cadets.

Delton Howrey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Howrey was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cort Hubner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Minner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Cascade's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for North Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

North Montgomery beat Cascade 10-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Chargin' Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
