Baseball Recap: McCutcheon Comes Up Short

McCutcheon lost to Avon back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mavericks fell just short of the Orioles by a score of 6-5.

Jake Winger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played.

McCutcheon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-1. As for Avon, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCutcheon will welcome Benton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks are facing the Bison at the right time seeing as the Bison are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Avon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Zionsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Orioles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
