Basketball Recap: Chelsea's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Chelsea had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. Everything went their way against the Neshoba Central Rockets as they made off with a 66-41 victory. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Neshoba Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Iyley Denson, who posted nine points. Taelyn Mingo was another key player, putting up eight points.

Chelsea is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Neshoba Central, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chelsea won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mortimer Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Mortimer Jordan has won four straight at home, while Chelsea won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Neshoba Central, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Ridgeland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neshoba Central is facing Ridgeland at the right time seeing as Ridgeland is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
