Weatherford has gone 8-1 against Cache recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Weatherford will be strutting in after a win while Cache will be coming in after a loss.
Weatherford took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 62-20 victory over Douglass. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weatherford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Wald, who rushed for 31 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. Jakoby Flynn was in the mix too, providing the Eagles with two scores.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Weatherford's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Henry Davis, Luke Downs, and Ascher Price, who each picked up one sack apiece. Preston King got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Cache was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 19-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elk City.
Weatherford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points over those games. As for Cache, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything came up roses for Weatherford against Cache when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 39-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
