Baseball Game Preview: Bad Axe Hatchets vs. All Saints Central Cougars

Bad Axe is 0-3 against All Saints Central since April of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Hatchets will welcome the Cougars at 12:00 p.m. Bad Axe has given up an average of 14.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bad Axe is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Unionville-Sebewaing, falling 18-0. Hatchets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Patriots since on Thursday.

Meanwhile, All Saints Central came tearing into Wednesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Dragons as they made off with a 13-1 win. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly 12 runs.

All Saints Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Bad Axe, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
