Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss

Jefferson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 59-38 to the Dublin Fighting Irish. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Fighting Irish this season, with their most recent defeat being a 55-37 loss two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson County lost, don't look at Shanteria Anderson. Despite the final result, she posted 21 points. That was a full 55.3% of Jefferson County's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelissia Reeves, who scored six points and 14 boards.

Even though they lost, Jefferson County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Dublin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dajah Taylor led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Keasia Jackson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Dublin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.

As of now, neither Jefferson County nor Dublin have any future games scheduled.
