Volleyball Recap: Kuna Falls Despite Big Games from Afton Mcrae and Gracen Johnson + How To Watch

Kuna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Middleton Vikings. The Kavemen were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Kuna sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-8.

Kuna's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gracen Johnson, who had nine digs and one assist, and Afton McRae, who had 13 kills and seven digs. McRae is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last four games she's played. Abby Jenkins also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Kuna's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Middleton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kuna will head out to challenge Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Middleton, they will venture away from home to square off against Nampa at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
