Baseball Recap: Tampa Catholic Find Success

Tampa Catholic won the last time they faced Barren County and things went their way on Monday too. The Crusaders came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Jake Owen looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jose Carrero was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Tampa Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Barren County, they dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Tampa Catholic will face off against Cambridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Barren County, they will head out on the road to face off against Paul Laurence Dunbar at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
