Soccer Recap: Coal City Comes Up Short

Coal City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers. Coal City were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Joliet Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Coal City's loss dropped their record down to 1-12-2. As for Joliet Catholic, their win ended a seven-match drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.

Looking ahead, Coal City will face off against Manteno at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Joliet Catholic, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Carmel at 6:30 p.m. on May 12.
