Softball Recap: Alameda Hornets vs. Hollister Haybalers
With a playoff win on the line, Alameda rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hollister Haybalers by a score of 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Julia Lambert was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Maddy Yoon was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Miley Gradney was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Alameda's record is now 24-5. As for Hollister, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-8.
Looking ahead, Alameda will host Del Oro at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 1.3, the Golden Eagles 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Hollister does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
