Football Game Preview: Rockwood Tigers vs. Roane County Yellowjackets + How To Watch

Rockwood hasn't had much luck against Roane County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Rockwood beats Roane County with 35 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Tigers didn't even let Cumberland County on the board last Friday, marking the Tigers' second-straight 35-0 shutout. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Jets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Adrian Darby, who rushed for 112 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. Rockwood is undefeated when Darby posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Darrien Hensley was another key player, gaining 106 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 163 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Rockwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Hensley led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Jeffery Gray got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Roane County made easy work of Scott last Friday and carried off a 28-3 win. That looming 28-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellowjackets yet this season.
