Volleyball Recap: Hoosic Valley Hawks vs. Stillwater Warriors
After flying high against Canajoharie/Fort Plain on Wednesday, Hoosic Valley came back down to earth. The Hawks came up short against the Stillwater Warriors on Friday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss on October 6th.
Hoosic Valley was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.
Joni Chapko paced Hoosic Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Chapko got some help from Lainey Bochette and her 15 assists. Bochette was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Hoosic Valley's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9-3. As for Stillwater, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5-5.
As of now, neither Hoosic Valley nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
