Football Game Preview: New Salem Holsteins vs. Kidder County Wolves

The New Salem Holsteins will square off against the Kidder County Wolves on Friday. New Salem is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, New Salem came up short against Mott-Regent/New England and fell 28-18.

Meanwhile, Kidder County faced Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock/Strasburg/Zeeland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolves came up short against Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock/Strasburg/Zeeland, falling 36-14. The matchup marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

New Salem will need to focus on slowing down Preston Fischer, one of several Kidder County players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 124 receiving yards and one TD. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 80 yards.

New Salem's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Kidder County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

New Salem came up short against Kidder County in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 38-34. Can the Holsteins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
