Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Palisades

The Marshall Barristers and the Palisades Dolphins will round out the year against one another at at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday. Marshall's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

If Marshall beats Palisades with one goal on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Marshall who was credited with the win on Friday. Marshall got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to Bernstein's seven.

Palisades will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against Hawkins on Friday. Palisades put the hurt on Hawkins with a sharp 4-1 victory. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by three goals or more this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Palisades, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for Marshall, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
