Basketball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Vista PEAK Prep can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 91-59 loss at the hands of the Valor Christian Eagles. The Bison were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-30.

Vista PEAK Prep's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amirah Pena, who posted 22 points. Pena is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Eianna Jackson was another key player, shooting 47% from the field en route to 16 points and six rebounds.

It was another big night for Peyton Jones, who shot 7-for-12 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 35 points and ten boards for Valor Christian. That's the most rebounds Jones has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rylie Beers, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points and five assists.

Vista PEAK Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Valor Christian, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 22-2.

Vista PEAK Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valor Christian, they will square off against Doherty at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Valor Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 matchups.
