The Holy Cross Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Boone County Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Holy Cross has three straight victories, Boone County has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Holy Cross earned a 7-3 win over Bracken County.
Chase Tully looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alex Arlinghaus was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Ethan Neal was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Boone County's offense. They lost 10-0 to Ryle on Wednesday.
Boone County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Inman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double was Inman's first of the season.
Holy Cross pushed their record up to 12-16 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Boone County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
Holy Cross' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Indians have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Boone County, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Holy Cross continue to outrun the ball?
Holy Cross came out on top in a nail-biter against Boone County in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
