Basketball Game Preview: Batavia Blue Devils vs. Pittsford Panthers

The Batavia Blue Devils will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Pittsford Panthers at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Batavia took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Greece Arcadia 75-57. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Titans are ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pittsford was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 68-62 to Eastridge.

Batavia has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Pittsford, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.

Batavia strolled past Pittsford when the teams last played back in January by a score of 68-50. Does Batavia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pittsford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
