Basketball Recap: Leetonia Bears vs. David Anderson Blue Devils
The Leetonia Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-18 loss at the hands of David Anderson. Leetonia has not had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Leetonia's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Johns, who scored seven points, and Carson Brock who scored five points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Leetonia struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Leetonia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for David Anderson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Leetonia will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Valley Christian's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Bears have been banged up by 21 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. David Anderson will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
