Basketball Recap: Creekside Christian Academy Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Creekside Christian Academy challenged Stephenson on Saturday. The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stephenson Jaguars. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Creekside Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaiden Williams went 9 of 22 en route to 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Maddox, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Even though they lost, Creekside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Creekside Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Stephenson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekside Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Andrew's at 2:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Stephenson also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against North Clayton at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
