Soccer Recap: Salida Falls to Vail Mountain in First Game of Season

Salida unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 6-2 to the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers on Tuesday. Salida haven't had much luck with Vail Mountain recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Skya Gorby and Elle Farnsworth scored both of Salida's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Vail Mountain now has a winning record of 1-0-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salida will square off against Crested Butte at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Crested Butte's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Vail Mountain, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Moffat County at 12:00 p.m.
