Basketball Game Preview: Licking Heights Hornets vs. Granville Blue Aces

The Licking Heights Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Granville Blue Aces at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Licking Heights strolled past Bishop Watterson with points to spare, taking the game 52-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Hornets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Eagles are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Granville waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They secured a 50-46 W over the Blue Devils.

Granville pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Licking Heights, they have also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Licking Heights was able to grind out a solid victory over Granville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 51-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Licking Heights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
