Longmeadow made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Minnechaug Regional, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lancers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The Lancers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Delaney Schrager was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Gabby Palma also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Longmeadow's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Minnechaug Regional, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Longmeadow will challenge East Longmeadow at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Minnechaug Regional, they will square off against South Hadley at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (the Falcons have three straight victories, the Tigers have three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
