Basketball Recap: Mountain Ridge Skates Past West Jordan with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Ridge). They blew past the West Jordan Jaguars 90-46 on Friday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-27.

Mountain Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tate Munson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Munson a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Will Lindsay, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Mountain Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

Mountain Ridge's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. As for West Jordan, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Mountain Ridge will take on Salem Hills in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season. West Jordan and Riverton will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully West Jordan likes a good challenge.
