Recap: Thompson Warriors vs. Pinson Valley Indians
It was a good run, but the Thompson Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinson Valley. Thompson has struggled against Pinson Valley recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Pinson Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clyde Walters led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Walters' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quay Lynch, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Thompson's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Pinson Valley, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thompson is on the road again on Friday and play against Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Pinson Valley, they will face off against Hamilton Heights Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hamilton Heights Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
