Baseball Recap: Kingsway Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

Kingsway had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Burlington Township on Thursday. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Falcons. Considering the Dragons have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kingsway got a great performance from Killian McCaffrey as he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Thorp, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Schmidt, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Kingsway is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Burlington Township, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Kingsway will venture away from home to face off against Clearview at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Burlington Township, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Holy Cross at 3:45 p.m.
