Basketball Game Preview: Weatherford Eagles vs. Clinton Red Tornadoes

The Weatherford Eagles will face off against the Clinton Red Tornadoes at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Weatherford beat Booker T. Washington 61-57. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Hornets are ranked 59th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton). They breezed by ASTEC Charter to the tune of 72-4 back in December of 2024. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Red Tornadoes with their most commanding win of the season.

Weatherford's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Clinton, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.

Everything came up roses for Weatherford against Clinton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 76-24 victory. Will Weatherford repeat their success, or does Clinton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
