Basketball Recap: Anthem Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Antelope

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anthem Prep). They were the clear victor by a 76-53 margin over the Antelope Rams on Thursday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Rithik Kolli, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 27 points in addition to six assists and five steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandt Schirm, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

Despite the loss, Antelope saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trane Figueroa posted 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Figueroa. Another player making a difference was Ozzy Martin, who had ten points.

Anthem Prep pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. As for Antelope, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6.

Anthem Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-35 win against Maryvale Prep on the 14th. As for Antelope, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-50 victory against San Luis on the 13th.
