Basketball Recap: Navajo Pine Takes a Loss

If Navajo Pine was feeling good fresh off their 68-45 takedown of Carrizozo last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Navajo Pine Warriors fell to the Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy Eagles 57-51.

Despite the loss, Navajo Pine still got an impressive performance from Dayshaun Chee, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Those nine boards gave Chee a new career-high. Anthony Sandoval was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Navajo Pine's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Navajo Pine will square off against Zuni at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy, they will challenge Hozho Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
