Basketball Recap: Asheville Cougars vs. North Buncombe Black Hawks

Asheville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 56-43 to the North Buncombe Black Hawks. North Buncombe found their leader in sophomore Aubrey Gilliland, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Gilliland is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kadence Penley, who posted seven points and three steals.

Asheville's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for North Buncombe, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Asheville will take on Enka at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Asheville is facing Enka at the right time seeing as Enka is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for North Buncombe, they will face off against Erwin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Erwin will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something North Buncombe surely won't give up without a fight.
