Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Joseph can now relate to. They fell just short of the Salt Lake Academy Griffins by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. While the Jayhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Griffins 25-19 in the first set.

St. Joseph started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Ally Macaulay paced St. Joseph's offense, picking up six kills. Macaulay got some help from Lizzie Randall and her nine assists. Mackenzie Hernandez controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Salt Lake Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Salt Lake Academy has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Beaver on the 2nd.
