Baseball Recap: Renaissance Has No Trouble Against Southfield Christian

While Renaissance didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Southfield Christian Eagles 14-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Phoenix, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Renaissance has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Southfield Christian, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Renaissance will take on East English Village Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southfield Christian, they will square off against Loyola at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
