Catholic Central has gone a perfect 8-0 against Sparta recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Catholic Central Cougars will take on the Sparta Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Catholic Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Catholic Central proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 25) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over South Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since February 11th.

Meanwhile, Sparta hadn't done well against Spring Lake recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sparta enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over Spring Lake. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Sparta's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Catholic Central, their win bumped their record up to 19-8.

Catholic Central took their victory against Sparta when the teams last played back in February of 2020 by a conclusive 81-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catholic Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
