Basketball Game Preview: Hesperia Christian Patriots vs. Serrano Diamondbacks

The Hesperia Christian Patriots and the Serrano Diamondbacks will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hesperia Christian will head into Friday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Big Bear and fell 82-41. The Patriots have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Hesperia Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jackson Lake dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Those 12 boards set a new season-high mark for Lake.

Meanwhile, Serrano scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Barstow.

Hesperia Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Serrano, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
