Soccer Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Danville Vikings. If Lincoln were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Danville when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 5-17-1. As for Danville, they moved to 10-10-4 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will square off against Athens/Greenview/Illini Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln's defense better be ready for this one: Athens/Greenview/Illini Central have averaged an impressive 3 goals per game this season. As for Danville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richwoods at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
