Baseball Recap: Elkhorn North Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Elkhorn North dropped their record down to 13-10 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Grand Island Islanders by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by just one run.

As for Grand Island, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Grand Island's part, Sam Schroeder was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Brody Davidson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Coincidentally, Elkhorn North and Grand Island will both be playing Gretna East the next time they take the field. The Islanders will head out to face the Griffins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wolves will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
