Softball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 22-1 to the Riverside Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 16-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Eastside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Hitch, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Avery Powell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-7-2. As for Riverside, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.

Eastside has already played their next contest (against James F. Byrnes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Riverside, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-3 defeat against Gaffney on the 25th.
