Providence Athletic Club has gone 8-2 against Upstate HomeSchool recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Providence Athletic Club Panthers challenge the Upstate HomeSchool Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Providence Athletic Club's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Providence Athletic Club is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering South Charlotte just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 76-63 to the Thunder. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 188th in South Carolina, while the Thunder are ranked 542nd in North Carolina).

Despite their loss, Providence Athletic Club saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Freeman Bult, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards, was perhaps the best of all. Bult continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Lara, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Providence Athletic Club smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Upstate HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out back in December of 2024. The contest between them and Asheville T didn't end well, with Upstate HomeSchool falling 52-36. The Bearcats were down 47-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Providence Athletic Club's record is now 7-7. As for Upstate HomeSchool, their record is now 5-5.

Providence Athletic Club strolled past Upstate HomeSchool when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 51-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Providence Athletic Club since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
