Basketball Recap: Rocky Mount Falls Despite Big Games from Brelyn Moses and Anthony Jones

It was fun while it lasted, but Rocky Mount's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They fell 58-45 to the Hunt Warriors. The loss was the Gryphons' first of the season.

Rocky Mount's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Jones, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds, and Brelyn Moses, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. The match was Moses' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kelijah Evans, who posted four points.

Hunt found their leader in sophomore Na'Sir Hines, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Joyner, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rocky Mount fell to 3-1. As for Hunt, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Rocky Mount and South Central will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Hunt, they will head out to face off against Smithfield-Selma at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
