Basketball Game Preview: Grace Academy Lions vs. North Hills Christian Eagles

The Grace Academy Lions will face off against the North Hills Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Grace Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Metrolina Christian Academy just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 69-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since November 12, 2024.

Despite their defeat, Grace Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evan Buslovich, who posted nine points and five boards, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Carson Payne, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 92-54, which was the final score in North Hills Christian's tilt against Sugar Creek Charter two weeks ago. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Wildcats are ranked 256th).

This is the second loss in a row for North Hills Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Grace Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.

Grace Academy beat North Hills Christian 98-88 in their previous matchup back in January of 2016. Will Grace Academy repeat their success, or does North Hills Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
