Volleyball Recap: Martin County Triumphs

The Martin County Gators sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Northeastern Eagles on Tuesday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Martin County who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-27, 15-7.

Northeastern lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jamyah Adylett, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Martin County's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Northeastern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Martin County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Hertford County on the 25th. As for Northeastern, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Pasquotank County on the 25th.
