Basketball Recap: Solon Takes a Loss

Solon played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees, falling 78-56. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Bees are ranked 29th).

Brecksville-Broadview Heights' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bridget Barber, who went 6 for 13 en route to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Ashley Perdion, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 18 points in addition to four steals and three blocks.

Solon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Solon will be playing in front of their home fans against Wadsworth at 1:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they will take on Nordonia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.
