Wayne Academy entered their tilt with Lamar on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 victory over the Lamar Raiders. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Raiders are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Lamar, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wayne Academy Jaguars take on the Simpson Academy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
