Baseball Recap: Mountain Pointe Takes a Loss

Mountain Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Notre Dame Prep Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 last Monday.

Mountain Pointe got a good showing from Ja'Kyn Thurman, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Thurman has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kai Klepfer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Mountain Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Notre Dame Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.

Looking ahead, Mountain Pointe will face off against Maricopa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will take on Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
