The Axtell Wildcats won against the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets last Monday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Axtell breezed by Heartland Lutheran at home to the tune of 53-15. Considering Axtell has won three matches by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Axtell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Bergstrom led the charge by scoring 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Carson Lindau, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Axtell and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for Heartland Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
