Recap: Clark Montessori Cougars vs. Lockland Panthers
If The Clark Montessori Cougars were feeling good off their 48-9 takedown of the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Clark Montessori took a 27-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lockland. Clark Montessori was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lockland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Damien Dawson got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 285 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 172 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Mouhamed Tall, who picked up 38 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Clark Montessori's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Lockland, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place, and Cincinnati Country Day. As for Lockland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Clark Montessori does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lockland will head out on the road to face off against Ansonia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ansonia is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
