Poly scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against the Hillcrest Trojans as the Poly Bears made off with a 9-2 win. The victory was some much needed relief for Poly as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jacob DeVincenzo looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Poly got a big performance out of Gabe Guerrero, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Jaxson Francisco was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Hillcrest didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poly only threw six.

Poly will head out on the road to square off against Heritage at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hillcrest, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Patriot at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
