Basketball Game Preview: Indian Creek Braves vs. Greenwood Woodmen

The Indian Creek Braves will square off against the Greenwood Woodmen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Indian Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Last Friday, Indian Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South Putnam, but they still walked away with a 63-57 victory. Things were looking grim for the Braves in the first quarter (they were down by 20) but they stormed back to get the game.

Meanwhile, Greenwood strolled past Bloomington North with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 67-52. The Woodmen pushed the score to 54-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Indian Creek better keep an eye on Isaac O'Neal. He was instrumental in Greenwood's win, going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points and three steals. That's the most points O'Neal has posted since back in November of 2024. Parker Doolin was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

Indian Creek pushed their record up to 11-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points over those games. As for Greenwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Indian Creek came up short against Greenwood in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-59. Can Indian Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
