Softball Recap: Maple Grove Takes a Loss

Maple Grove lost to Chautauqua Lake back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Dragons lost 13-1 to the Thunderbirds. The matchup marked the Red Dragons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Maple Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dani Trim, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Trim has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Maple Grove and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Chautauqua Lake, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Maple Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Brocton on the 16th. As for Chautauqua Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-5 defeat against Fredonia on the 16th.
